Snapdragon 765 and 765G Specs, Benchmark and Review

Qualcomm sell their devices in different tiers, you have 200, 400, 600, 700, and the 800 aimed at different markets. The Snapdragon 765 is basically an upgrade to the Snapdragon 730. Coming to the CPU, Snapdragon 765 is equipped with Kryo 475 which is very similar to the setup that Qualcomm used in Snapdragon 730. So you have got two big heavy lifting performance cores (2X Cortex-A76 cores) and six power-efficient cores (6X Cortex-A55 cores). The first prime core runs at 2.3 GHz and the second prime core runs at 2.2 GHz and the six Cortex-A55 runs at 1.8 GHz.

We have Adreno 620 in Snapdragon 765 whereas we had Adreno 618 in the Snapdragon 730. Adreno 620 is an upgrade of the Adreno 618 with slightly better performance.

5G for All

The most interesting thing about Snapdragon 765 and 765G is, they both include the integrated Snapdragon X52 5G modem that means every Snapdragon 765 device will be a 5G device. The X52 modem is equally as good as the X55 modem that you will find in Snapdragon 865. The X52 modem does support millimeter-wave, sub-6, standalone and non-standalone, dynamic spectrum sharing and you have got a maximum download speed of 3.7 Gbps.

With the launch of Snapdragon 765 and 765G 5G processors, phones will certainly cost hundreds of dollars less than today’s 5G flagships and will be available in a more affordable price segment.

Difference between 765 and 765G

Analogous to 730 and 730G, the difference between 765 and 765 G is, the Snapdragon 765G promises a further 20% boost to graphics performance. Qualcomm selects “speed binned” chips for the 765G, meaning they can handle slightly higher GPU clocks.

Primarily focussed on smoothing the gaming experience, the Snapdragon 765G comes with a subsection of Snapdragon Elite Gaming features that you will find in the Snapdragon 865 chip. The chipset supports 120Hz display refresh rates at FHD+ resolutions and it also supports 10-bit HDR gaming.

Other than this, the two models share the same core features, complete with next-gen 5G and AI capabilities.
