Many rumors are wandering about that IMF demand to increase power tarrif but on Wednesday Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari minister of Power declared that we don’t have any talk with International Monitoring Funds on increasing tarrif.On social media platform X he labelled the information of increase in tarrif as “misinformation” and said that it is reality that we are discussing some issues with IMF but these talks are about reforms and revolution in power sector not on increasing tarrif.He more said that in our talks to IMF we present the reforms plan of Pakistan’s power sector to IMF and is waiting for the approval of Prime Minister for finalization.However it is reported that IMF is getting proposal by FBR to increase tax amount on non filer and are in waiting list of IMF approvals and also for the approval of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif for final decision.It is also rumoring that government decided to impose tax on sale and purchase of property above than 50 millions. Auto consumers would also face difficulty from next financial year as FBR would collect more tax from auto consumers.
